INDIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN LIVINGSTONPetitioned by Sanskriti Teen Volunteer, Raina Batra, Livingston Township held its first ever India Independence Day Celebration in 2017. Now in its seventh year, the India Independence Day Celebration is becoming an annual tradition in Livingston. Over 300 members of the Indian Community attended the event to celebrate and show their national pride forming a sea of saffron, white and green as Sanskriti President Neeta Juvekar welcomed everyone. Amongst present were Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, Deputy Mayor Al Anthony, Council members Ed Meinhardt, Shawn Klein, and Rosy Bagolie, BOE President Vineeta Khanna, Vice-President Pam Chirls and BOE member Parul Khemka. |
