We are excited to host our Annual Dakshin Mahotsav to celebrate new beginnings and showcase the rich and diverse culture of South India this festival season. Please join us on Saturday, April 17th 2021 as we celebrate Ugadi in Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka, Vishu in Kerala, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu. Enjoy a fun-filled session of South Indian music, Rangoli, cultural events, games, and more. This is a Free event but registration is required. Zoom link to the event will be sent on registration.
Participate in the following activities when you register: 1. General volunteering - Sign up to help on the day of the event off-site. 2. Onsite volunteering - Sign up to help on the day of the event on-site, with the distribution of Ugadi sweets at 3.30 PM. 3. Rangoli competition - Sign up to participate in the Rangoli competition. 4. Singing competition - Sign up yourself, or your child, to participate in a solo music competition. 4-minute song limit. The winner's recitals will be telecast in our program.
Rangoli guidelines:
1. Can be done on a sheet or ground or any flat surface.
2. For outline, can use marker, pens etc
3. For filing the design, use Holi colors mixed with sand, rice flour and any other creative ingredients like grains etc
4. Take a picture of the Rangoli and send it by 12th April.
During registration, check if you would like to pick up a sweet box for your family at 4pm on the day of the event.
